It's Been Awhile!

I know I haven't been on for awhile. So I thought I'd just share what we have been up to. We are extremely short at work so I have been working six days a week. I'm going to be working like this until I get the time off for Shayla's wedding (which is at the end of July!) So hey we may have some spending money while we are there which I won't mind! Hubby has been working equally hard. Husband had the opportunity to drive the county sheriff's pick-up in the parade for people who have been killed in the line of duty (yes, husband asked me to ride along with him so I did.). At the new police/fire department here in Alamosa they had a little program and after had a dinner afterwards.

A few days later was Memorial day, so my mom asked to me take some flowers to Manassa to put on the graves there. So, Preston and I bought flowers and took them down there. After placing the flowers, we decided to go see my grandpa. I love him! He is 91 years old and still as ornery as can be! We visited with him for awhile and then headed home. Preston and I didn't really get to do anything for memorial day because I had to work late.
After working over 60 hrs a week husband decided that I needed a break, so one Sunday after church we decided to go for a walk. We walked up to Zapata Falls, let me tell you it was a sad sight! There was hardly any water, which is very unusual for this time of the year. But it was still a beautiful site!

The following week I received a phone call from my uncle. He told me that he wanted to take a trip out of town but needed help. I said "help with what" and he said that my aunt was sick and had not been doing well. So all he needed me to do was spend the night there and go check on her a few times a day. I told him I could do that. So Preston and I packed up and headed to my uncle's. I had no idea that my aunt was so sick. At first I did kind of dread doing this but I knew I would get blessings for doing so. Taking care of my aunt ended up not being bad. I had an actual conversation with her, which I found out was awesome for her. A week after I had finished taking care of her I found out that she had passed away. Monday the 25th of June was her funeral. After her funeral I had to go back to work, but I was happy that I was able to see my dad, brother and my three nephews, Mason, Logan and Dallas! The kids were very well behaved and I was mostly surprised by Dallas.... We used to lovingly call Dallas "Damn Dallas". This is because when he was smaller all he would do is cry and scream! But he must have grown out of that (Thank goodness.) Uncle Preston gave all the boys hats that said "Peterbuilt" on them. They loved them! After all of that excitement, Uncle Preston took one boy at a time on a 4-wheeler! That's all the boys could talk about after they saw it. All three boys LOVED IT!

Grandpa Snuffy!

Logan wanted a ride but he wanted to ride with Mason. But as soon as those 2 were on the 4-wheeler here came Dallas! He would not let me leave him. So I had all 3 boys on the 4-wheeler we rode for almost an hour and every time I mentioned stopping Dallas would say "NO STOP"! When it came time to stop all three jumped off and grabbed their sticks! haha These boys and their imaginations are so cute! While on the 4-wheeler Mason had me laughing... He said  "This is my second ride on the 4-wheeler so its twice the fun... get it get it aunt Courtney". He is too funny! But my dad brother and nephews had to leave to go back to Sterling around noon. I was so sad to see them leave but I will see them in just about 3 weeks for the last Smith sibling wedding!
